This indeed is pretty interesting. When I try accessing this site with
IE, I end up on the IE-generated 'site temporarily not available' error
page, but only after it has realized that the server runs ssl and
provides a certificate (which it doesn't let me have a look it, though).

The behaviour with the ever-spinning world seems to happen on the second
access to this site, only. On the first attempt to load it, I end up on
said error page. What's interesting about *this* is that I end up on
this error page even when I have 'short HTTP error messages'
deactivated. This may point to a problem with the proxy cache config in
case there is one.
