I saw your call for help because of the imminent threat you say IMC

I may not be able to help myself, but I can probably get you into touch
with someone who can. I'm sending a copy of this email to the global
Indymedia Tech mailing list (imc-tech at lists.indymedia.org) which is read
by all server admins and tech savvy people.

But sending email may take to long. So I suggest you join us on IRC. You
can use the webchat at
http://chat.indymedia.org/?chans=tech

and then ask for help about Athens. Keep in mind that this IRC chat is
public and you cannot trust everyone in there, so don't give away too
much information. Some people on this channel will be 'operators',
having a special mark next to their nickname. You can definately trust
these people.

I suggest you just ask for help there and set up an account on the
athens.indymedia.org server for someone you think is both trustable and
tech-savvy enough to help you out.

This person can then make a backup copy of the athens.indymedia.org
website and transfer it to another server where it can be put instead.

Probably just like you, I'll be asleep for the next couple of hours so
you may not meet me online when you connect. But there will be other
people to help you out. Just be patient, they will not neccessarily
respond within just a few minutes. So keep the chat window open for at
least 15 minutes, the more the better.

I'm sending copies of ths email to people whom I hope can help out with
this situation, use the 'Reply all' function of your email program to
keep them up to date, too.
