Techmeet 2007 is coming up! Cities around the world will be
participating in this year's Techmeet -- from San Francisco to Sao
Paulo to Santiago del Chile to Amsterdam to Berlin to Rio de Janeiro
and more every day. Techmeet is being held between October 13th and
October 31st -- so it'll be 3 weeks of intense international
co-operation on the critical issues facing us today.

For more information about this year's organizing, see below. The San
Francisco Techmeet events will get started around the weekend of the
13th with a showing of a hacker movie at Cafe do Brasil near 7th &
Market. We will also be online here and communicating with other
Techmeet locations.

But we need help organizing and inviting people to show up and
participate! We will be having an organizational meeting:

- 7PM, Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007
Cafe do Brasil, 1106 Market Street @ 7th Street

Hope to see you there!

TECHMEET 2007
This year's Techmeet will be comprised of distributed and virtual
conference events.

There will a global virtual conference every Sunday during Techmeet.
So, October 14th, 21st and 28th, we'll be holding the virtual
conferences. Work on projects will be on-going through-out this time.

In San Francisco, we're planning to participate in all three virtual
conferences as well as hold a kick-off party the first weekend of
Techmeet.

The main topics of conversation for Techmeet will be:
1) Next-generation Indymedia software -- the merging of sf-active and
mir -- strategies for building the software development team.

2) Next-generation Indymedia server maintenance -- impact of the
software merge on the hardware/server situation -- discussion of
recent events relating to security/surveillance issues.

3) Increased co-operation amongst tech collectives -- community
colocation model -- non-Indymedia tech issues.
