i think it's better if a tangible target is set i.e. five thousand pounds,
instead of a few thousand pounds. then we could countdown to the target -
something like "only 1500 pounds to go" or whatever.  otherwise it will
seem like we are raising money in exorably - which, indeed, we have to if
you think about it.

further, there are a number of spelling and grammatical errors in the text
-is this text on a wiki somewhere?
