Can't disagree with your reasoning for or against: it's a tricky one.

Maybe we could mail them, and ask them instead if they could write a 
news article about what's going on during preparations for ESF, and 
include the call for translations as part of that?

Or maybe someone on this list involved with ESF prep can write it, or 
include it in another piece they're working on now?
