hmm... yes.. the balance between indymedia as a political platform and
as a media experiment..
.............. hmm... no idea how this happened - and likewise was quite
surprised to see Indymedia (no further explanations/references given) as
a "team" in a "(Have I got) Schnews (for you)" contribution to the
recent TRAPESE Cabar8 in the Bongo Club, Edinburgh ... while it is great
that Indymedia gets some exposure and, well, advertising, it is
problematic if some people just assume that they can use the name and
goodwill of Indymedia without consulting the rest of the network - or at
least notifying lists like these - ... this does not have to do with
intentions alone - it has to do with an open, accountable way of
organising horisontally ...

so, agree with tony - thinking that there needs to be a careful balance
between indymedia as an experiment in open publishing and indymedia as
an overt political platform ...
