We leave up *far* worse than that on the newswire. Just because it is
Marxist doggerel you bother to hide it? Yet leave the rest of the even
less analytical drivel there?! I wouldn't promote it, but... Is it a
hierarchical organisation using the newswire as a noticeboard as the
guideline suggests?
I don't much like this posting, so it's actually a good time to talk
about it. As I understand it a primary purpose of the agreed guideline
is to stop the newswire degenerating into various groups noticeboard -
and generally a repetition of many existing sites. There is also another
guideline that stops 'notice board' postings from anyone else, non-news.
The actual hierarchy guideline states:
Hierarchy : *The newswire is designed to generate a news resource*, not
a notice-board for political parties or any other hierarchically
structured organizations.
Now the highlighted (with * *) section to me shouldn't be in Hierarchy
at all - hierarchical organisations (be they the Greens, Trots or Trade
Unions) can, if they try, post good stuff that isn't noticeboard
postings - not that they often do. The highlighted section should be in
non-news.
So what I am trying to say is this posting isn't news. It doesn't matter
that it was posted explicitly by some sect. It most certainly doesn't
matter that it was posted and takes a Marxist position.
Now where we draw the line (or if we draw the line, or how we draw
lines, or how we present different lists) on non-news, as there is good
analysis/comment that does help produce a news resource is a quite
different (and worthwhile) conversation...
