hello

below there is the list of promotions i've just done. actually i am not 
sure if we still should be reporting this list with every promotion 
done.

i mean i remember shiar brought this up some time ago - questioning the 
need / usefulness of these super dry emails listing promotions, but i 
am not sure if there was a discussion and/or a decision on this.

i think that to report hiddens makes sense, basically for 
transparency's sake as hiding a posting is a quite drastic measure. but 
promoting is all much more in the open. it is done publicaly in the 
wire, and anyone can see straight away what has been promoted or not. 
so i think we could do away with having to report these every single 
time.

i think the main aim of reporting the promotions done to this list was 
to do with trying to come up, together and by doing, with some sort of 
general guidelines for promotions. i don't think that so far we have 
come any closer to identify these, although i think promoting still 
works very well, and the promoted wire is a great thing.

so i would propose to 'formally' stop having to report promotions to 
this list, and to talk about some sort of guidelines for the promoted 
wire face to face in the next network meeting (september/early october 
right?)

having said all that :-) and because i am not sure right now whether i 
should be reporting the promotions i've just done or not, i list them 
below for the last time unless everyone think that what i propose is a 
crap idea.
