It's great that you want to get involved. There is no standing for
posts, so there is no preventing anyone standing for posts :)
But I'm sure your misunderstandings about the process of helping out in
a collective will be easily cleared away when you come and meet with
everyone with open minds and a non-confrontational attitude.
