There seems to be a lots of people with the same view of the promoted
wire, doesn't it?

It is true that the promoted wire was introduced as a sort of
experiment, and as such, it may be needed to review it again. As far as
I remember it was introduced to try to highlight first hand reports as
opposite to general rants, opinions and announcements. I kind of agree
with the points ben mentions here, but i still think that there's a
need to somehow highlight the efforts people do when reporting
themselves, first-hand.
I can see the arguments for the open wire to be kept in the front page,
but maybe the problem resides in having one wire only. Probably the
solution could be in dividing the wire in different sections as it has
been mentioned several times., all of them showing in the front page.
should we discuss this again? meanwhile i'll keep promoting posts that
are:
* original, first hand reports on actions and other events
* good, original analysis"
basically because the way we implement OP in IMC-UK right now doesn't
offer any other way to highlight the practice of what has sometimes
been referred to as direct media.
