Well, the fact that this has rumbled on for so long suggests that there are
people who DO give a monkeys!

I'm perfectly aware of the stress of running around trying to get reports out in
dangerous circumstances, and it is still my opinion that the word was
inappropriate - does breach the guideline and that Genny acted correctly in
hiding it. An argument that its okay to use discriminatory words in long
reports but not short reports is not particularly helpful as far as I can see.

As for knowing and trusting people enough to edit someone elses post, I would be
less than happy if someone I knew well edited one of my posts without checking
with me first - if a post of mine breached the discriminatory guideline I would
expect it to be dealt with in exactly the same way as a post that was from
someone whose identity was not known to us.

Anyone reading this list who went away with the impression that elements of the
kollektive suffered from the same kind of cronyism that Blair has been
practising for the last debate might have a point.

Had a discriminatory word not been used in the post, whether inadvertantly or
not none of this would have happened.

As I cannot get to Germany, I have to get on and do other things.
