Hi everybody,
In my opinion the story is factual and possibly shows a turning point in the way the mainstream media is dealing with climate change.
Britain is about to suffer severe consequences of global warming like heatwaves with temperatures as high as 40 degrees, and the Gulf Stream will stop about 2012 bringing a new ice age with minus 40 degrees.
If you want the movement related angle Channel Four is desperate for a behind the scenes exclusive on the Camp for Climate Action and the groups that will be there and what they stand for, and this is likely to be agreed for broadcast about a week or two after the Live Earth concerts.
The Climate Camp networking group have been asked to provide someone to be interviewed on behalf of the Camp itself, and Rising Tide, Earth First, Plane Stupid, the Campaign Against Climate Change etc will be invited to take part as well.
Magic Dave will probably be speaking on behalf of Peace not War and the Creative Forum and Angel and Sunshine will represent the Childrens' Revolution group.
You can talk to Magic Dave directly on 07986465552 and Angel on 07862100817 any time if you want quotes and you can quote me as well if you like.
There will be a series of stories related to the Climate Camp going worldwide soon and they will all start on Indymedia UK if you want them to.
(I am acting on behalf of a small tribe of independent eco warriors and their friends.)
Cheers,

hi everybody.
a quick response as its late but i have serious objections against
this feature: not the climate change is not an important issue, but i
cannot see any movement related issues the the feature as it is. the
feature is almost only referring to very
suspicious sources as tabloid press, stupid politicians, and lots of
links to mainstream media as the star and bbc.

well, some tabloiad reported that "the sun will explode soon" or that
the end of the world is near (thats a tabloid issue once a year at
least). if you want to convince people that climate change is a
serious issue, better dont quote such sources.

uuh, i wouldnt believe blair or schwarzenegger even if they say the
earth is ball-shaped.

sorry again, it might be somehow true, but britain will probably one of
the last countries in the world suffering under climate change, before
that happens, millions of poeple will be dead in asia and other
countries of the global south. there might be some truth in what he
says, but well ...
startx.
