Hello

First, I hid this drawing. Second, why is this discussed in process
list, i think it belongs to features list. Third, I am sending this
reply only because it was me who hid it, but I have *no* interest at
all nor energy to get into a length debate about this.
If kevin larmee or anyone else wants to discuss this further, this is,
of course, perfectly all right with me, but please make sure you don't
cc this mails to my personal address, please use only the features list
one instead.

I can't remember what exact reason i put for hiding this, but it was
probably the non-news guideline. What I remember though is that my main
personal reason for hiding it was the actual content of the drawing. I
thought it has very strong connotations to Christian religion, and the
same as any other religion in this planet, I don't think indymedia is
the place for it. For that I mean I don't think religion (any religion)
should be promoted or depicted in imc-uk. There are countless of other
outlets out there that already do that.

The IMC-UK Mission Statement lists a series of principles that it aims
to live up to. Within those there is one that reads:

- we reject all systems of domination and discrimination

To me religion (any religion) is precisely one of those 'systems', and
therefore it has got no place in imc-uk.

Please do not take any of this personally, nor I mean to be patronising
or anything like that. It is also nothing to do about your artistic
ability, not even about art in itself. I have always been a strong
supporter of art and culture having a presence in the imc wires. I do
believe that a drawing can be seen as 'news'. Why shouldn't it be if a
photo, a video, and audio piece, or a text can? I therefore have left,
in the past, your drawings showing in the wire whilst doing admin.

Anyway, of course I could have completely misunderstood this drawing.
If people in this list think it should be unhidden, i won't argue
further against that.

cheers
maqui
