A few thoughts....although the possibility of a decision is receding.
I support hiding the original article, but not deleting (we don't do that Tony unless it is a legal matter).
Using 'Jewish' in the senses that Atzmon does seems inadvisable, and the suggestions of a Jewish power/lobby are dangerously close to anti-Semitic propaganda, so, I 'm not that supportive. The Tony lobby have that point right, that this stuff can be quoted out of context by anti-semites, and in an accusation of anti-semitism.
However, Indymedia works like it does, and the position is generally to allow debate and comment on controversial articles rather than automatically hiding.
Democracy is a contested concept, and of the many versions practiced, IMUK has adopted the consensus model which does not involve 'one man [sic] one vote' and does involve the block.
I'm afraid organised leftists can't just tell IMC to operate in a different manner, just as they cannot insist on deletion (=censorship), or for IMC to view the issue as a simple polarity, yes or no, with 'us' or against us.
Over and out, have to organise getting as many people as possible to the anti-BNP demo, New Kimberley Hotel, Blackpool South promenade, Saturday Nov 17th, having just spent time at the Anti-Aparteid Wall stall at Lancaster University.
