Nope, nothing has been lost. The two 'original' features with comments 
and additions have been left intact in the dsei topic page, exactly for 
the reasons you mention. The new one in the front page is a summary, 
which, in fact, includes quite a few of the comments and additions of 
the old features such as audio reports ... so it doesn't suck.

I actually explained this in an email to this list which i sent on 
friday afternoon.
