The stuff I put in IRC:
[16:54] <ftp> so, Indymedia.org has a feature on Burma -
http://www.indymedia.org/en/2007/09/893128.shtml
[16:55] <ftp> The first comment, which is clearly anti-semitic, draws attention
to the involvement of the International Crisis Group
[16:56] <ftp> which seems like a rather dodgy outfit, described by someone as
"... some kind of open-source CIA for the NGO set"
[16:57] <ftp> spinwatch have quite a detailed critique here:
http://www.spinwatch.org/content/view/1043/9/
[16:58] <ftp> and a google of "International Crisis Group" and Burma gets a fair
number of hits
[16:58] <ftp> they've just released a new Zimbabwe report as well
[16:59] * ftp wonders how much of a set-up this story really is
It does seem to me that this is a spun story - not dissimilar to the 'prayer
meetings' that got attacked in Zimbabwe a few months ago. Of course, what is
happening in Burma is awful, but those shouting loudly about it in the media do
not believe in universal justice at all.......
It makes me very uncomfortable.
