I also I think Gilad Atzmon is simply *wrong*, as I have
said before, in his analysis that the US:
"becoming an Israeli mission force fighting some idiotic
neocon wars against Iraq, Syria and Iran serves Israeli
interest only."

The Empire is not being primiraly run in the intrests of
Israel, Iraq was clearly far more about the oil resources
and the -- then impending now seemingly past -- peak of
global oil production.
I don't really understand much of Gilad Atzmons writing
about "Jewishness", I haven't read that much of his work,
I don't really know if some of it crosses the line or not
(I wouldn't block either article being hidden or unhidden)
but it appears to me that he is trying to come to terms
with his upbringing and is radically reacting against it.
I think he is wrong in the same way that if someone spent
a lot of time and energy deconstructing and condemning
Englishness because they saw this as the key reason for
the Imperial crimes of the British state would be wrong.
As Shiar points out the feature does touch on this:
he focuses on the "simplistic Biblical worldview" that
was inherited by Zionists and Neocons, rather than an
analysis based on colonial history
And this bit links to the email linked to above:
Some broader implications of this case were also raised:
should all articles suggesting that the US foreign
policy is strongly influenced, or determined, by Israel
or the Zionist lobby be hidden?
