[IMC-UK-Features] Topic special proposal: SHAC National March & Rally

[Animal Rep]

I would like to propose that the SHAC National March & Rally has a topic special (in animal liberation), and also if no-one objects for it to also be a startpage special nearer the date (a week ago or so if possible).  I have compiled newswire and previous march links, and even a few previous feature links (as SHACtivists used to use IMC years ago, but obviously haven't done in a while).
 
As the date is listed on the IMC-UK promoted calendar, I thought this would be a good idea...

ABSTRACT
 
On the 12th July, Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty (SHAC) will be holding a national march and rally to show the mass opposition to the fraudulent vivisection industry and the vile 'experiments' at Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS). SHAC is an international campaign aiming to close HLS, the largest contract testing laboratory in Europe.

The rally in the park will include info stalls and food/drink from Veggies before campaigners march through Peterborough. There will then be a demonstration in Alconbury to meet the animal abusers who kill 500 animals every day of the week to test products such as weed killer, food colourings and drugs.

Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty was set up in 1999 with the sole aim of closing HLS down. SHAC campaigns for the closure of HLS using evidence obtained in five undercover investigations at their different laboratories in the UK and USA.
<p>
HLS workers have been caught on film punching puppies in the face, simulating sex with animals in their care, cutting open primates while they are still alive and falsifying experiments to get products on the market. We can also prove that HLS workers have been caught drunk at work and dealing drugs at the labs.
<p>
Huntingdon Life Sciences have a criminal record from a British court of law for breaking the Companies' Act. They are the only UK laboratories to ever have their licence revoked by the government.
