Ideally it requires template changes to insert a new box plus changes
to allow that box to be editable in admin.

I've done a quick bodge which is to subdivide the projects box into
two categories.

However, this all brings up old issues of the sorry state of the
'projects' static pages generally and I question the need and sense in
defining these pages as indymedia projects or other.

For example.

the photo 'projects' page has no projects at all, it is purely advice.

the video page lists dozens of projects, hardly any of which are
indymedia projects as such.

the cinema page lists screening projects generally, not just
'indymedia' branded screenings.

the radio page lists a variety of grassroots radio projects and there
is no uk indymedia radio project as such any more

Infact, the only indymedia projects in the projects box are offline
(which is currently a london only project) and mobile indymedia (which
london indymedia doesn't bother linking to).

basically, the projects banners are really media type guides that tell
you about grassroots media projects in the uk.

so... as it stands, it might be better if the offline link became a
print media link and included not just offline but also schnews, bath
bomb, gaged, etc etc and another schnews links added to the video page
for schnewsmovies.
