because it is not the remit of indymedia to be blatantly calling for a
demonstration - specially not on the front page features. the remit is
the "telling" of such demonstrations.
while this remit does not change, all references to future
demonstrations are best kept on the space designated for that (the
calendar, even the newswire articles) or in the "additional information"
part of articles.
if people want to change the remit, let's talk about it in the network
meeting - we should indeed discuss this asap.
it is great to have new groups of people preparing features and even
promoting their actions (we've probably all done it?) but at the risk of
sounding patronising, i think it is important, or at least i would like,
that every one understand the reason/s why indymedia was created, and
promoting future demonstrations or events was not one of them ...
again, we may change this - but i don't think the features list would be
the place for it? it would be great to see you all at the network
meeting to discuss and decide on these things
