I'm not sure that it was OK, but comments that linked to
the BNP address list were *promoted* -- see for example
this one that was posted to a feature article:

  https://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2008/11/413827.html?c=on#c208515

In addition BNP personal details were not consistently
removed, see for example this thread:

  https://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2008/11/413139.html?c=on#comments

I think we need to be a lot more consistent on this matter
and I also think that having a link in a newswire article
isn't the same as a link from a feature article or a
promoted comment -- links from features or promoted
comments imply endorsement by the editorial collective,
where as for the newswire we have this position:

All postings to the open publishing newswire are the
responsibility of the individual authors and not of UK
indymedia. Although IMC UK volunteers attempt to ensure
accuracy of the newswire, they take no responsibility
legal or otherwise for the contents of the open
publishing site. Mention of external web sites or
services is for information purposes only and
constitutes neither an endorsement nor a recommendation.

So if the two links to directaction.info are removed from
the proposed feature would that make people happy about
this feature being published?
