The contention is about whether it should have gone up as an event announcement
- without a recent newswire link - prior to the event. Are we now going to have
announcements for all events as features? The feature that went up after the
event is obviously not contentious.

I presume you're not talking about this:

I further deduce that you are suggesting that Indymedia is guilty of over
reporting some of the biggest demos that have happened in the last 5 years in
this country - and I humbly suggest that in fact such coverage would be
entirely consistent with our mission statement. We aren't just reporting the
decimation of Gaza, we are also reporting demos and direct action in solidarity
with the besieged people of Gaza.

As far as I know, you haven't written and proposed a feature on some other
topic,  and had it refused on the grounds that it would interfere with coverage
of Gaza. Nor has anyone else.
