lots of things in no particular order but try to keep short and to the point
not ment to be rude :)

will second yossarians proposal.

on consensus personally i dont like it, but see its nessisary but in this
case as calyx has bent over backwards we do need to give them an answer
so...
I think we should go with the shortened consensus

I have always been of the opinion that the techys know best when it comes
down to tech stuff so respect any decision they make (mostly) and this has
been the case throughout the imc global network (i think)
(also techs are not the best to write/speak in plain english but if they are
in imc then their motives are same as ours and alot of tech things would
_never get done_ if they had to rely on collectives making consensus about
them)
and this proposal I think goes to aleivate both parties concerns untech
peeps and techys, imho, a good compormise

And go with calyx (at least for now, nothing is for ever) but would feel
much better if we had a reliable server up and running (hey if it dont work
out and somthing better comes along then we can switch)

ok so this is one server doing all the work but i think the plan is to have
backups of that server updated every night in several different
places/countries not online as such but waiting and updated. so if the calyx
one got grabbed then the backups would then be used. loosing only a few
hours of data/postings
and agree with .mayler
<snip>
Calyx do IMHO look like a good option whilst we develop properly distributed
systems, IMHO the best protection against censorship and other legal attacks
is massive redundancy and decentralization.
<snap>
only not sure what redundancy means in this context

anyway i would implore people to consider this proposal to get the calyx
server up and running and move the whole process forward so the techys can
start this decentralise thing with mirrors and backups of the new kosmos
(whatever its going to be called)

which will be alot easier for them if we are using a server with lots of
free space and not old and compleatly overloaded. eg. i heard that one of
the harddrives in kosmos failed today, no data loss but if another one goes
then there will be, and alot of that is cause we have so much data going in
and out of it and its old and it would run better if imcuk wasnt on it so
another reason to move and quick :)
