hi
[BTW someone tells me that Channel4 are going to run with this story
tonight but this, of course, could be BS]
i know that folks are busy with the ESF and all but should we have an
emergency IRC meeting asap to discuss among other things:
- server redundancy - do we have effective mirrors?
- website redundancy - what can be done to improve things? sheffield was
down for ages.
- tech redundancy - i believe only two UK people can repoint the DNS.
- press contacts - should we use them? usually we shun the press but
perhaps we should cultivate a more symbiotic relationship with them with
regards to the next point...
- more publicity - how can we best capitalise on this media opportunity
the feds have given us? perhaps we could contact http://www.ifex.org/
with an action list of what we would like people to do.
- editorial policy - has this been affected? was it the imc-nantes post
that was the problem?
- legal defence - do we have any?
- the future - what next?
this is a fantastic media coup - do we want to make the most of it?
personally, i'm in favour of 'going large' but i understand that not
everybody might feel that way.
cheers
