hi all,

it's a year now since we started our server fundraising
http://lists.indymedia.org/pipermail/imc-uk-process/2004-October/1018-
3a.html
and back then one of the idea was that as kollectives we'd
try to fundraise for a year, so here's where we're at:

we've done extremely well i'd say, we fundraised in total
7260.73 of which
2139.56 have been spent on traven and the hosting costs
4601.17 are in cash in the UK Network account, and
520.00 donations are committed but not yet received
the full lowdown is on
http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Local/UkDatabaseServerBreakdown

anyway here two proposals for the network account running:

1) any incoming money that is not specifically declared to
be for the server fund should go to cover the remaining
g8 debt (currently 479.60), and after that is covered
it should go to general purposes. this excludes the 100 £
of current monthly standing orders that are declared for
    the server fund.

2) let's create a savings account in which all monthly money is
transferred to and publish the details of that account online
rather than our cheque account details as we're doing at the
moment. this has been suggested by our bank triodos as they
receive regular fraudulous attempts to set up direct debits
on our account. this is down to the fact that we publish
the details of our account online. we would be able to receive
direct debits on that savings account and can publish the
details safely without the danger of someone trying to rip us
off. there's consensus between the five signatories to do this
and all five current signatories will have access.

both these proposals are deadlined to sunday 25 december.

cheers andi
