Hiya,
I would like to propose a change to the way the UK site works in relation
to the regional features.

I'm not sure what you mean by that but I have always argued that all
features from the regions should appear in some form in the UK central
column.

Maybe a proposal to include a newswire on the left column to 'syndicate'
the features from the regions (like the global site does) with the title
and kollective name and put it where the kollectives list is now would be
one idea.

As Nottinghamshire seems to produce most regional features at the moment
it strikes me that these find not much of a space on the UK startpage, and
thus not get read by people outside the notts indy site. Surely what makes
UK Indymedia as a network strong is that there are regional pages and that
local stories get researched and published on a local, but also national
level.
PROPOSAL:
I propose to have regional features automatically appear on the startpage
as promoted newswire articles with the name of the local imc, thus making
a destinction between the regional features and other 'promoted articles'.
I'm not sure what to do with this next. I guess we'll discuss this on the
lists and then might set a 'deadline' or something later. Anyway, it would
be good to hear from others what they think.
Cheers, Wietse
