[Imc-uk-network] ESRC funded research project on Indymedia UK]

Hello all

I am guessing - without going back through the archives - that the
research that Ilyan is referring to was when someone at the
University of Gwent [?] asked to do some research on who uses
indymedia etc. At the time the general outcome of a long discussion
was that they can obviously use all he transparent info available on
the lists and archives if they need to but no-one had the time or
inclination to do any work from our side as it was not deemed to be
of much use to us as a network. They also asked for the use of a
feature on UK indymedia to advertise their project and we declined
this as a misuse of the site.

Actualy having a quick look through the archives - if you look around
22nd June 2004 on [Imc-uk-process] you will find the start of a
discussion on this proposal. At least with this one they approached
us formally and joined in a good discussion - which led in many ways
to the setting up of some wiki pages to help those doing research
without draining our time and energy.

cheers tony
