There's always an implicit hierarchy, same as there's always death and
taxes. Especially working with computers, there have to be techs with
root privileges, and devs with rights to alter the code. Any other way
leads to madness. And setting computers aside, there are implicit
hierarchies derived from person-to-person networking ("who you know")
and project involvement. Dissertations have been written on this
subject. It's not new.

These implicit hierarchies are undesireable, just like explicit ones;
they're even more pernicious, because they're not obvious. But it's
simply divisive to imply, as you do, that they've been erected
deliberately for the benefit of some clique. Indymedia techs generally
bend over backwards to avoid using their know-how or passwords in a way
that disempowers other members with less knowledge or lower privileges.

Internal divisions, takeover plots and conspiraloon accusations are an
inappropriate way to react to the discovery of implicit hierarchies.

So please give it a rest!
