If it's of any help it's not technically possible to subscribe someone
else to an Indymedia mailing list [1]. You could however have been
'invited' in which case you get an e-mail with a link it, which if you
click on it and say 'yes' you get subscribed.

[1] While subscribing someone to a Mailman list is normally possible the
Indymedia listserve geeks removed that 'feature' from the custom version
of the code used on lists.indymedia.org . This I understand was because
of well-meaning but misguided folks signing up people they 'thought'
wanted to join the list and causing trouble.
