It's because the RSS feed only contains the description.

If you want to create a new feed that has the whole article content and
the embeded media in the HTML that would be cool, I guess that ideally
the content would be in another element than the description but I guess
it doesn't matter if it's all in the description -- that should be
simpler to get working.

No problem, should we also be pulling the podcast feed?

The video and audio items in this are not in the feed we are pulling...

We could either add this feed in or if you wanted to create a feed
specifically for the UK site that might be best, then you can make sure
that everything you want syndicated is in it, you could even add a 'uk'
tickbox to your publishing page so that users could choose if their
article is added to the RSS feed for the UK site if you wanted...

I see that when you make a newswire post an event it vanishes from your
newswire -- if you could create an events RSS feed then we could use
this to remove Bristol events from the newswire and look at putting all
the event listing items into a UK events box.
