Hey,
just to say, put up the oyster war regional feature up on the startpage now. If there are any complaints that it is not really
suitable for startpage feel free to take it down again- can't imagine imc uk ever having a feature on a community theatre
play on the front for now, well it is not really direct action, so I just thought i try it, as there is not much else going on
here.
Also, sorry, have not much time the next 2 weeks or so, but will definitely help moving over some world features, when I
have.
The Scotland archive should be pulled over completely now, but the links and pics still go to the old side.
What is the procedure for pulling over (world) features?
With Scotland I just copied the html out of "view source" and pasted it into a "new article" in the admin.
That would maintain the whole page as it was. Unfortunately I was not sure what was considered to be in the abstract,
so I quickly summarised the content, with basically copying and pasting the headlines of the various features from the
page.
Then I discovered it would be good, not only to maintain the page as a single summary with several features, but also
each feature itself, so I posted every feature in a new article.
The headline went into the headline, and the stuff in the blue box in the second headline, which is possible if you post it
in a "new article" via admin.
The tables aparantly are not going well with the new system, so i deleted these.
The new features, I dropped all into the abstract box, as they are usually quite short, and nothing in the content, which
seems to be alringht. The pics also still link back to the old side.
Does this procedure sound sensible for pulling over the world features, too, or what would be improvement of this
procedure for this massive project?
Also I wondered if it is possible to have special region subtopics, like for the world page "Zapatistas/chiapas" or so.
Also I wondered, when I backdated the features- luckily most of them have a date in the blue box- the system
sometimes makes a time jump a day before or a day after, don't know why, after pressing the "save" button.
Okay, would be good to hear back from you, and to agree how we pull over the features in general, and what
procedure makes most sense.
Cheers Ulla
