In imc-uk, we are making decisions by consensus. You started working on a new text for
the publish page, which is great. However, before it can be implemented, it needs to find consensus on 
this list, like all changes of static pages. Finding consensus about a proposal means that 
contributions on this list need to be taken into consideration, the proposal needs to be amended,
until everybody can live with it. 
Sometimes this requires discussion, sometimes clarification. I have given some hints as to what needs 
clarifying and what I am not happy with in my previous mail.

As your proposal stands now, it does not have my consensus. Presently, I prefer the old publish page,
even though one paragraph is out of date.

doesn't specify what the text should replace. As I said before, as part of a static help page, 
linked from the publish page, it makes sense to me. It is good to offer help to people who want it.
As a replacement of the present publish page, it needs some more work. I am busy with other stuff
at the moment (http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Global/AhimsaOverview), so can't take this on. 
But am looking forward to the next draft of your proposal.

disagree. haven't looked at the page in a while but last time i was
there it was a redesigned publish page (yes really). extraneous info at
the top or wherever about design 'style' can obviously be lost. your
suggestions for keeping bits of text sound ok and can be added - by you,
presumably. there are good reasons for having short 'help' info on the
publish page itself. it's called outreach.
