[Imc-uk-process] UK Network Gathering 2005? (was: [Imc-g8-2005] imc+g8 @ESF)

Hi from BIMC

the following represents a collective offer from Bristol IMC, agreed at our monthly meeting held last week.

We are concerned that no UK Network Gathering was held this year, similar to last year's event at Sheffield. Those of us who attended in 2003 found it a useful and productive weekend, particularly given that Bristol, like Scotland, has a greater level of 'autonomy'. Our aim is to continue to contribute to the UK as a whole.

We also feel that a UK Network Gathering would be essential in preparation for the G8 next July. Our offer is therefore to host this gathering in spring 2005. We're aware that this would involve a fair amount of preparation; however, we also recognise that we are one of the larger, older collectives and are hopefully able to take on daunting tasks such as this.

At the moment, we'd just like feedback on the proposal before we start scouring the city for venues. In the meantime, we look forward to possibly seeing you all again in the spring!
