It's not the most inviting interface, but it does seem a more 
appropriate tool for indymedia than Google. (I was quite surprised to 
read the stuff about Google, it's something I should have known about 
or at least suspected already, I guess).

I've also been using Activista

which seems to track indymedia pretty well also.
