Mobile phones have much lower bandwidth than WiFi. A WiFi connection has
a nominal bandwidth of 11Mbps, but in practice somewhere between 5Mbps
and 1Mbps, depending on the range.
A mobile phone using dual-channel GPRS offers a maximum bandwidth of
about 128Kbps, in other words about one-tenth the worst-case bandwidth
of a WiFi connection.
I don't know what you can expect from a 3G connection, but I doubt it
compares well to WiFi.
