hiya, just isolating specific points into a mail when going 
thru the irclog from last tuesday...

Q: is it possible to redirect old urls to new ones? google will get
_lots_ of 404s otherwise...

A: Zapata already made is newswire article redirection possibilities in
   2 versions: a small php3 script, being used by brasil, and a small
   java servlet, which will be used by portland. these will work for the
   "front.php3?article_id=" urls.
---> Further action: we should do a list of any other urls we would like
to preserve like features archive, the various middle columns etc
