The as I see it newswire comments section is getting beyond a joke there
seem to be an awful lot of people using it to air their gripes, not to
upload relevent news, to argue with others doing the same. Ive hidden
articles with 81 comments 51,53 150(aprox) as it too much trouble to tick
each one when so many
Most of them seem to be posts about the far right but posts on anarchism and
other subjects too.
There was a comment, ran like this "Why is there 55 replies to a post about
a tiny insignificant far right group? when the issues that are allowing the
FR to grow, (and in my opinion, it will be a new grouping including some
disgruntled tories, not the BNP,etc who make the running) such as poverty,
housing, welfare etc, don't get a look in. wrong end of telescope and all
that...."
at the bottom of one I hid just now so responsible readers/contributers are
getting pissed off to.

We are not a forum we are a news etc platform so...

I propose that we should be able to disable the comments section on some
posts or have a moderateing feature so all comments on particular posts wont
show untill a mod authorises them so that would stop this bickering on
particular posts.
But is this possible tech wise? to impliment a " we are moderating all
comments on this post to stop spam" type comment/message on posts that are
running out of control.
