I think this is the best single machine option so far.

I agree.
The HP machines come with built in KVM over IP, you have
the buy the firmware though for $199 (without this you
just have telnet/http access to power cycle the server).
The cheapest plug-in KVM over IP solution I have found is
a eRIC express PCI card from £411, details on the wiki
page.
