It has been pointed out that 4 x 7200 rpm with RAID 10
might be as good or faster than 2 x 10k rpm disks with
RAID 1.

The latest being:

- Server Proposal 11
  Two dual core AMD 1.8Ghz (ie quad) processors, four
  500Gb disks (1Tb with RAID 10), 8Gb RAM
  £2382 

Also I have just realised that 750Gb disks are available
but they are expensive - £250 each, but with four we could
have 1.5Tb of storage with RAID 10...
