This email list is not being used much. But I though I would put this
message in archive with a few pointers.
There is now only limited access to update templates and stylesheet for
indymedia uk.

For more on MIR stylesheets see:

I are waiting for dev server to get up and running before messing about
with new designs for indymedia uk.
We already have a quick and easy modification to front page css in
pipeline as far as change in colour:

I hope to stick with pure css layout. But move to using em rather than
px for fonts sizes. Sheffield template already uses em.
Some one has been creating some new designs for MIR templates using pure
css.
http://lists.indymedia.org/pipermail/mir-coders/2004-January/001429.html
which may be worth looking at.
Amino offered to do a design for indymedia uk in a chat on irc. He has
been working on one quite hard, he is converting designs to pure css
even though for now he prefers working with tables.
Despite the need for a new design for imc uk and amino being good at
design, I have some concerns that before amino puts too much work in
should engage with a larger group of people in imc uk through the email
lists in order for the whole collective to feel they have had input and
ownership of the designs for them to be accepted. Also with present
state of access there may be delays in getting design up and implemented
on actual site.
Anyway I guess there will be more on this later. I think amino is
waiting till he has them 'ready' before pointing people to see them. I
may link to them from http://imcscotland.org/design.htm
Also a description needs adding for this list. This can be done by the
list admin in administration interface.
cheers,
