Some ideas for & about the Calendar:
It would be nice to:
~ be able to add comments to events
~ note have to supply an email address
~ Not have to select a topic, and/or be able to choose your own
topic, one that was not set in advance.
~ Since it the calendar is for listing events, perhaps it would be
worth having a category for listing the type of event, e.g. gig,
party, protest, court case, exhibition, show, gala dinner etc.
For this and the last point, it would make sense to be able to
choose anything from zero to several categories.
~ The rss feed at http://www.protest.net/imcuk/rss is good, and
gives lots of details in a machine readable way, e.g.
<dc:subject>Environment</dc:subject>. It would be good to have a
way to interrogate this database with questions like what's
happening to do with the Environment? or what's happening today,
or what's happening in Oxford, etc.
~ The descriptions in the rss feed are all truncated---this
doesn't seem helpful.
Presumably migrating the calendar to Mir will make it look more like
the rest of uk-imc, which I think will also help with usability.
