i looked at chris' comments display design:

It is now more like the sf.indymedia design and i like that. See

I think I'd prefer the grey shading in the "display the following 
comments" box rather than in the additions. Logically, the article 
itself and the Additions are the same - texts, while the comments box is 
something different, a list. The shading would highlight this difference.

Although I never know in advance wether my design ideas will do what i 
think they will, if you know what i mean!

btw, the only complication i see is our internal arguments about what 
should be promoted to addition. We should try and define it somehow - 
for the public i think it's really enough to say "we think this is an 
addition", but for ourselves we might need some more discussion.
