[Imc-uk-useability] Working on startpage changes

Hello

wietse - good work.  I like the design in most aspects.  Just want to
throw some thoughts in about one or two aspects no one has really
commented on so far.

I think the right column/newswire should be much shorter than at
present.  I was going to suggest 20 items, then had a look and there are
32 for yesterday.  So maybe 50 is OK, but it would be good to see what
30 looks like.  We could have, say, other press continuing in that
column below the open newswire.

Obviously there would be links to a longer list (per week) at the end of
each section.

Not sure how the text works there.  I like the idea of highlighting the
work though.  Maybe they have to all be on top of each other rather than
a 2x2 grid.  

I'm also not sure about having all four options there anyway.  The text
people effectively get highlighted in the promoted wire.  And we have a
featured photo, that would be the highlighting for the photo person.  So
maybe we could just make this section highlight audio and video.  Say
the most recent promoted post with audio and video.

Definitely agree that "Other Press" should have it's own section and
that it should be low down the page.  But maybe it should be below the
open newswire - see comments on (2) above.

OTHER SECTIONS
There are some sections that could be added to the mix. 

* events.  Not the upcoming coverage section, but an automatic feed from
a functioning web calendar (when it exists ...)
* global features - automatically brought in from www.indymedia.org RSS
feed.  Would be great to link us into the global indymedia network more.

Maybe these could be added to the region/topic mix.  2 regions, 2
topics, the next few events and a few global features.
