And, just to throw another codec into the mix, the new flash 8 video is 
a possible option. It's basically a wrapper for the VP7 codec which is 
high quality, and also not resource hungry, so it works even on older 
hardware. And being Flash it has a wide user install base, I think most 
computers come with Flash now, and the update to new versions seems to 
be quite seamless if a user has version 7, 6 etc.
