Jeez, that sounds pretty cool, but I don't understand what it does. 
It's a way of sending the video from the camera to the VHS without wires?

I haven't scouted out Parliament Square as far as wifi hotspots go.  The
backpack idea requires that you are within range of a hotspot, I guess
it depends on a lot of factors how far away from it you can be.  If
there's nothing in between you and the hotspot, and you had an antenna
for your wireless card, you could go quite a long way probably.  In
Edinburgh we were getting wireless access over a line of sight that was
probably a few hundred meters.

During the tests I did on the weekend, I found that I could still stream
successfully even on a really crap connection, like I had about a 12%
signal strength and the stream still seemed to be working.  I know that
Euan is still interested in talking about streaming stuff, so if you two
can put together a date when you'd like to do it, we can meet and try
some stuff out - maybe set up laptops and then go out and try to stream
something?
