[Imc-unity] Repost of last posting

Sorry Sean, I've been operating at near burn-out mode for the past couple of
weeks. But you're right, I think we can make this happen if we persevere.

That's a tricky question and I do remember us talking about it. I'm
inclined to think offering that respect to some while witholding it from
others is too agenda laden to be a part of our basic principles. I would
veer from that viewpoint however, when talking about police in the line of
duty. When they put themselves in the position of being public servants,
and despite their most common behavior that is what they're supposed to be,
in my book, they give up their right to privacy. In fact, I think it's part
of our responsibility to photograph their actions.

best,
cayce

This is a repost of the last post I sent, so far no comments one way or
another. Everyone still there??
I think it is only myself, Cayce, Sheri and Jason?? Yes?

With only so few of us, if we all stay attentive, we could really get this
Unity document together.

Cheers, Sean

Cayce,
The reason I included "reprisals" et al, was because in the discussion our
group had in San Fran it was voiced that that is the ideology behind the
policy, people were looking for a wording which would preclude it from
meaning people other than activists, people were concerned that someone
could take it to mean Klansmen and nazi-types, but I guess if they
considered themselves "activists" what would that mean to the statement, and
what does it mean to the statement if we leave out that bit and just go with
your suggestion? (I think it would boil down to the same issue actually).
So really the question is how do we word this to show our intent (it it is
our intent) to shield/protect cetrtain people/groups while not giving the
same umbrella to others?

does this all make sens and what are thoughts from everyone?

Cheers, Sean

Actually I just had another thought on the last one (#3). What if instead
of listing the reasons and therefore limiting them, we say "All IMC's
respect the right of those who, for any reason, wish not to be
identified..."
