Could you write an article on or otherwise bring some attention to this
topic, to help raise awareness for the HUGE rally being planned on the day?
(lots of potential for DIRECT ACTION, so come see us, we will provide
housing for y'all): http://seeyouincincinnati.com/
ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council) will be meeting in Cincinnati
on April 29th for a "Spring Task Force Summit." Please please help us get a
huge turnout and *START SPREADING THE WORD (going viral is the only way!)*--
s'about time the Queen City put itself back on the map for action!
They are basically a right-wing think tank composed of awful corporations,
who will be staying at the Hilton and devising the next round of awful
legislation. According to their philosophy, they are: "A nonpartisan
membership association for conservative state lawmakers who shared a common
belief in limited government, free markets, federalism, and individual
liberty. " Further: "Among those who were involved with ALEC in its
formative years were: Robert Kasten and Tommy Thompson of Wisconsin; John
Engler of Michigan; Terry Branstad of Iowa, and John Kasich of Ohio, all of
whom moved on to become governors or members of Congress."
(hint: these are the people who write the bills we're fighting!)
More history here:
Among the corporate board members of ALEC: Wal-Mart, Coca Cola, KOCH
INDUSTRIES, Exxon Mobil, Pfizer, AT&T, Kraft.
