You should check out the Prelinger Archive.  They have about 2000 public 
domain films online in DVD quality, including around 10 that deal w/ 
nuclear weapons and their use in Japan.  I highly recommend "Operation 
Cue" which contains blast footage from inside typical 50's homes with 
test dummies bursting into flames.

As for recent activist footage I have seen several segments appear in 
the US edition of Indymedia Newsreal over the years, unfortunately the 
website doesn't have any descriptions or online editions anymore.  I 
remember one from the first episode which contained a road blocking 
action in Maine and a subsequent one called "Scared Sacred" I believe 
involved a visit to Hiroshima.  You may want to ask the current 
organizers of the Newsreal project, they may have records and contact 
info for producers.
