I guess one question is whether the camera needs to move along with
the march or not (if yes, that rules out wifi)

Another is how 'live' does it need to be -- would be much easier to
capture video, then shuttle the tape/memory card every 10 minutes to a
plugged-in computer for upload. You could probably manage to do that with
a smallish delay (<1hour)

One good resource would be the wifi guy who came to our Netpublics
conference, who had a backpack w/ a wifi AP hooked to a cell data card
(GPRS/EDGE, I think, which works in dwntn LA. HSPDA is not here yet.)
That's probably not enough bw, but you could imux 2 or more cards
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverse_multiplexing.) He is Mike
Outmesguine (mo at wifi-toys.com), author of "wifi toys"
(http://www.wifi-toys.com/), and a local

You may also want to chat with Johanna Blakley <blakley AT usc.edu> at the
Lear center, who recently went through the same exercize to broadcast the
Grand Ave workshop downtown. They ended up using a directional wifi
antenna pointing at a (friendly) office in city hall. She had to rule out
the other solutions you mentioned, I think.
