Ben & Indymedia:
There are a few slogan by which meida giants live by that answers what Ben typed and they are:
1. never give up
2. whatever it takes
3. learn the rules so thast you'll know how to break them

In creating the youtubes and myspaces and facebooks, it doesn't matter what individuals use these sites for, the bigger picture is in the addiction and dependency on these and other site like them to get on in the world. Once hooked, your own behavior and emotions are manipulated.
We fail to realize, however, that the appearance of activist videos on these sites do draw millions of viewers and are excellent vehicles for distribution and dissemination. We also fail to realize, and more importantly to Ben's point (or so I think is Ben's point) that if viewers don't purchase what is advertised on these sites, neither the sites or its advertisers would be making money.
Therefore the focus shouldn't be on using these sites to post videos and have them carry our messages to others, instead, it is not to get caught up in the consumer culture frenzy.
